Christine J. Widmayer is a graduate student in Folklore Studies. She has an MFA in Creative Writing and a graduate certificate in Folklore Studies from George Mason University, where she also taught composition and literature for two years. She studies personal experience narrative, family folklore, women’s folklore, folklore and creative writing, and foodways. She focuses on the intersection of politics and storytelling, especially where they connect to performance, power, and agency. Christine teaches folklore courses and also tutors writing in the Athletic Department. In addition to her studies and teaching, Christine has worked for several feminist and literary causes; she was nonfiction editor for So to Speak: a feminist journal of language and art, and an intern for VIDA: Women in the Literary Arts. She is currently a co-editor for Gazing Grain Press, an inclusive feminist chapbook press.
