Support Comparative Literature & Folklore Studies at UW-Madison!

The Department of Comparative Literature & Folklore Studies relies on the generous support of friends, alumni, and colleagues to sustain its distinctive interdisciplinary scope across the liberal arts and sciences, and its commitment to integrated teaching, research, and public outreach.  Our current University of Wisconsin Foundation “Give Now” structure offers two alternative donation mechanisms, one for “Comparative Literature,” and one for “Folklore Program.”

Gifts of any size are most welcome and gratefully received to help us:

  • attract top faculty and graduate students
  • update and develop innovative teaching, coursework, and scholarship, on campus, throughout the state, and abroad
  • support graduate and undergraduate student fieldwork, community-based research, attendance at professional meetings, or organization of conferences or speaker series
  • issue documentary media productions
  • create exhibits
  • develop and curate archival collections
  • partner with organizations beyond the university
  • sponsor stimulating lectures, symposia, film screenings, and other public events.

We also appreciate letters to the College of Letters & Science Dean in support of our unique and important contributions to the liberal arts, the Wisconsin Idea, and communities local and global.
